Craigslist Landing Page Redesign

Craigslist is an American classified advertisements websites with sections devoted to jobs, housing, for sale, item wanted, services and etc,. I believe most of people have used this website and their services before.

One of the most interesting things about the website, it’s its design. I acknowledge that the simple design (NO design) leads its success till today. Here is WHY. AND, I do like this design style.

However, can a better design (I mean more focusing on its usability) brings more success to their business?

The Challenge (not really the challenges for their business)

  1. The landing page remains for a couple decades.

  2. Information got jammed and hard to be searched.

  3. Less engagement from the page.

  4. Site functions are a bit messy.

My solutions:

  1. Beatify the landing page with a better focus on usability.

  2. Categorize the services through leveraging the card design and layout.

  3. Combine functions, like ‘saved posts’, ‘my profile’, ‘alerts’, and ‘settings’, into one card.

  4. Search function been addressed out from the page.
